In 1988, some of the then few organic farmers in the country founded the Bio-Bauere-Genossenschaft Lëtzebuerg (BIOG). The cooperative should help with the processing and marketing of Luxembourgish organic and Demeter products and make organic and biodynamic agriculture a good step forward. The first NATURATA shop was created in 1989 from the provisional sales outlet of the cooperative in the city of Luxembourg. It is still in its original location in Rollingergrund today and is the contact point for a loyal group of customers.
