Established over 150 years ago, Shaws has become a trusted, much-loved brand and one of Ireland’s leading department store retailers. Founded in 1864 by Henry Shaw, the company began as a small drapery shop in Mountmellick, Co. Laois. From these humble beginnings, under the guidance of Henry and his wife, Annie, the business slowly grew. By the turn of the century, the company comprised of 2 premises, and was well-placed for further growth.
